Phaze 3 Fitness - Madison

Honestly, it was not bad before the pandemic, but, ever since, the gym has become absolutely disgusting and poorly managed. The equipment is run down, and some of it has even become somewhat hazardous (platforms, some machines). When I wash my crocs after the sauna, basically washes off with straight brown water/slime. I do not know how they have not washed the sauna in what seems like years, but that's how it seems. Lockers are generally pretty gross. Very rude and abrasive customer support online. The equipment is pretty nasty. The lone janitor is a good guy, but he needs help. Management, locally and organizationally, does not care about the people who attend. They care about profit. Go support a local gym and you'll find a much better experience. HAD A CARD EXPIRE AND THEY THREATENED ME WITH COLLECTIONS. FOR $25. Also, staff does not pay attention or do anything about gymgoers who are breaking rules (pouring water on electric sauna machines [usually takes them a while to replace them after they break], people taking videos of others without permission as I've seen done to others, groups of people hanging out on a bench press for over an hour during peak time). They don't care.

Phaze 3 is a great gym. The staff is nice, and they do a great job managing a very busy gym. I having been working out here for 3 years, and would recommend it to anyone in the Madison area. My only gripe with them is the hours. I wish that they were open later on Saturday/Sundays.

Personal trainer would schedule sessions without talking to me about it first. I would not know about the session until I checked my email. Plus there was nothing personal about the training. I would get there early or stay after to do a few more things and I noticed the workout that was given to me was given to other clients as well- and since the workouts never changed they stayed the same for the 3 months I did this- I figured it was a general workout given to all of her clients. She took notes about what I wanted when I first met her but the workouts didn’t match what I wanted to focus on. I stayed with it in hopes it would get better when I noticed it wasn’t I quite personal training. I quite in November, I haven’t talked to this personal trainer and I got an email saying I had a personal training session scheduled. I never agreed nor did I get a message asking if today would work for me. After not talking for a whole month, you would think I would be asked. Honestly, the unprofessionalism was an issue as well. She would trash talk some clients as well with another personal trainer. I don’t know if she thought I couldn’t hear her but she did it on the gym floor for everybody within ear shot to hear.

I love this place. I have enrolled for personal training sessions as well. Monthly membership fee is around 25 dollars. I extremely enjoy the hot yoga sessions every week, and the hot sauna. I frequently use the swimming pool. Great place. They have a variety of group sessions which are all included in the monthly membership. Definitely would recommend this place. I was hoping to find a good place to workout after I moved to Alabama. This place makes me want to go to the gym everyday.

Gym is ok but way too many people at all hours. The biggest issue is the billing company. In order to cancel you have to mail in a written request to cancel on top of the fee. Fee is whatever, I get it but they are actively trying to make it as difficult as possible. What a scam.
